The Australian Tiny House Association (ATHA) is working to reshape Australia’s housing landscape, through practical solutions, informed advocacy, and collective action.
Tiny houses continue to sit in a regulatory grey area, often misunderstood and inconsistently treated across states and local councils. At the same time, housing affordability and accessibility are becoming a critical national challenge. ATHA exists to bridge that gap.
We advocate for the recognition of tiny houses as a legitimate form of permanent moveable housing, supported by clear, consistent policy and planning frameworks. Our work is grounded in research, evidence, and the lived experience of our members, ensuring that the conversation is not only visionary, but credible and solutions focused.
As a member-based organisation, we bring together builders, owners, industry professionals, and supporters to form a unified voice. This collective approach strengthens our ability to engage with government, influence policy outcomes, and contribute constructively to the future of housing in Australia.
